Main Character
The main protagonist of Persona 5 is, as always, the character we get to name. This character is voiced by Jun Fukuyama.
The main protagonist of Persona 5 is similar to the protagonist of Persona 3 and 4. He is a 16-year-old, quiet, well-behaved transfer student. However, at night he transforms into the infamous leader of the Phantom Thieves.
Ryuji Sakamoto
Ryuji Sakamoto (voiced by Mamoru Miyano) is a character all anime fans will know. He is the ill-mannered delinquent character, or in other words, the ‘problem child’.
Ryuji Sakamoto is the character that causes his teachers constant stress and is known to be a trouble maker.
An Takamaki
Next we have An Takamaki. She also follows a well-known anime character archetype. Takamaki is that strange girl who has a thousand rumors surrounding her. Despite none of those rumors being proven, she is still a quiet child who remains seperated from the other students of Shujin High School.
Morgana
Last but not least is the cute little cat character Morgana, who is voiced by Ikue Otani.
This cat still remains mostly a mystery and has yet to have anything significant revealed about her.
It’s not rare to see such a cast in games like Persona; however, the series has always been successful in creating a fun unique class. Past games have even managed to put unique twists on well-known cliches. This cast seems fairly archetypal.
The interesting part about the main cast of Persona 5 is the fact that it is only four characters. Previous Persona games always had five or more characters. It leaves us to wonder whether these four characters will be the main cast for the whole game or if more will join later on.
